| Test: Symantec Norton Internet Security 2010 |

Norton Internet Security 2010 from Symantec is the new version of the world’s probably most well-known security package. This year has trimmed the software package further, and brought several smart features to protect against new threats that come from the Internet.
Security companies have been asked to start thinking about when they build their antivirus software. Viruses do not work at all the same today as it did a few years ago. In 2003 they found about five new viruses a day. Today it released about 25 000 different types of viruses, trojans, worms and other dangerous code - every day! Viruses write about themselves and create new versions automatically, to make it more difficult to identify them.
In order to offer better protection against today’s dangers on the Internet is no longer just relying on the so-called definition lists , or signature files. These are databases containing information on all registered viruses. In order to keep their antivirus software needs to continually update this list. Are we a couple of years back in time this took place about once per day. Norton Internet Security 2010 update itself about every five minutes.

But this is not enough. Therefore, antivirus programs today are increasingly moved towards the work in the cloud. By this means, briefly, the program communicates with the manufacturers’ servers, thereby exchanging user information about files that are downloaded from the Internet. This is done automatically and there is nothing you need to worry about, but it gives you just simply a much safer and better protected.
Symantec technology called Quorum. Today there are tens of millions of Norton users worldwide sharing of information. Loot a dangerous file by a user in Costa Rica, another user in Säffle be protected against this in minutes. This is totally the way to go.

Many uses Media Players as Windows Media Player, iTunes, WinAmp and VLC Media Player - but if your computer’s performance is low and you just want to listen to music, you should test the free and tiny 1by1.
Recently I found myself in the hospital and now I’m lying here for a while, due to Crohn’s disease. It means I’m in bed with a drip around the clock. However, it is not something that I let cut my mood, because I still have access to a computer - my little mini-computer Asus Eee PC 901 battery.
The advantage of such a computer is that it is so small and does not take place. It’s perfect in the hospital bed. However, the disadvantage of having clearly limited performance - Just like all mini computers. When things are not listening to music in Windows Media Player, or another mammoth tool that eats up half of internal memory.
After some searching I stumbled across a tiny program called 1by1. It is a very nerskalad Media Players which, when run on my small laptop, only takes about 7 MB of internal memory and around 3 percent of your CPU. It is very good given the starting position.

1by1 looks much like Windows Explorer when you run it. You’re looking up a folder of songs and then you can play them. It really is not. It is possible to minimize the application window so that it does not take place at all.
During installation, I chose to add an icon on the desktop (Desktop). It allows you to drag and drop a folder, the MP3 collection on your hard disk, the icon to start listening. To minimize the window, click Toggle Compact view which you can access via [F7].
Would you like to set the songs start from scratch when all been through, click the button Repeat. Here you can choose several different streaming methods.

1by1 hides the fact many settings, if you want to enter in the configuration. You do not do it, but do you like to tune and set the software so you can find a lot of fun here. Click the button Settings or press [F6].
The program is free and the downloadable installer tion file is 124 KB. You can download 1by1 from such MajorGeeks.

| Review: Freecom USB Card - USB memory card |

Cool USB sticks are plentiful. One that appeared on the editorial board is PCOnlines Freecom USBCard - a USB flash drive that has about the same size as a credit card and therefore can fit in your wallet.
Freecom USBCard is to the surface as large as any debit card at any time. However, it is bit thicker, because the USB plug needs to fit. But thickness is not greater than two, maximum three, plastic card. It allows you without much trouble, down the USB stick in the not too pitiful wallet.
The actual plug is inserted in the middle of the card, and you will get it by simply pressing it on the underside. The plug is attached to a plastic stick with rubber, so it is very flexible is to be no problem to plug into the computer’s USB port.
As usual, when I test the USB drives I have used the Flash Memory Toolkit to determine read / write speed. I have the USB stick connected to a USB hub, under the same conditions as for all tests.
Freecom USBCard must pass the reading speed, but the write speed was really not good. More than 1-2 MB per second is really bad . I tried to test on other computers to see if there was a temporary glitch with my usual test computer, but got the same result there. Please compare with Kingston Data Traveler has added around 10 MB per second. See table in the pictures below.
The design of the USB stick is interesting. Being able to have a storage memory of the wallet is smooth, for then you are sure that you always have with it. The price is also not particularly dangerous, since the smallest variation of 1GB only costs 200 dollars.Sure, there are cheaper USB sticks in the ordinary design, but I think credit card variant weigh it up. However, the write speed is not impressive.
Facts about Freecom USBCard:
- Contact: Freecom
- Capacities: 1GB, 2GB, 4GB or 8 GB
- Price: From SEK 200
- Weight: 10 grams
- Size: 85.5 x 54 x 2 mm
- Interface: USB 2.0 and USB 1.1
